October 28, 2024 – GM Rosner suffered a tough loss this week despite a monumental performance from his tight end Cade Otton, who put up a massive 30 points on National Tight End Day. Otton’s breakout performance wasn’t enough, though, as GM Liptak's team surged ahead with outstanding games from running backs Kyren Williams and James Cook, along with an explosive 40-point outing from star receiver CeeDee Lamb.
The loss was especially disappointing for Rosner, who watched his typically reliable cornerstone, Saquon Barkley, struggle with a low 12-point game. Despite impressive showings from his wide receivers—Zay Flowers, DeVonta Smith, and the recently returned Puka Nacua—Rosner fell short in what was one of the most anticipated matchups of the week.
Otton’s Heroics on National Tight End Day
Cade Otton came up big in honor of National Tight End Day, putting up a career-high 30 points. Known for his red-zone prowess, Otton hauled in multiple touchdowns and racked up yardage to single-handedly keep Rosner competitive in the game.
“Cade was phenomenal out there,” Rosner commented post-game. “He gave us everything we could’ve hoped for and more. Watching him perform like that on such a big day for tight ends was inspiring.”
Otton’s performance briefly put Rosner in the lead, and it seemed his team had the momentum it needed to win. But GM Liptak’s players came through in the clutch, ultimately dashing Rosner’s hopes for victory.
Liptak’s Power Trio: Williams, Cook, and Lamb
GM Liptak’s win was fueled by a trio of standout performances. Kyren Williams and James Cook both delivered in a big way, each putting up consistent points on the ground and contributing in the passing game. However, it was CeeDee Lamb who stole the show, exploding for nearly 40 points with a masterclass performance as the Dallas Cowboys' top receiver.
“Going up against CeeDee having a career day is tough for anyone,” Rosner admitted. “He made the difference in this matchup. Credit to Liptak for having those guys ready to go.”
The combination of Williams, Cook, and Lamb proved too much for Rosner’s team to overcome, despite his receivers' strong performance.
WR Core Comes Through: Flowers, Smith, and Nacua Shine
While Barkley’s disappointing 12-point game left Rosner hoping for more, his wide receivers did their best to make up for it. Zay Flowers and DeVonta Smith both delivered solid performances, putting up good yardage and securing several crucial catches. The highlight, however, was the return of Puka Nacua from injury. Nacua provided a much-needed spark, catching multiple passes and adding critical points to Rosner’s total.
“With Puka back, and both Zay and DeVonta putting up good numbers, our receiving corps looks strong,” Rosner noted. “I’m optimistic about what they’ll do going forward.”
A Tough Road Ahead for Rosner
Now sitting at a respectable record but coming off a disappointing loss, GM Rosner faces a challenging path ahead. While Otton’s standout performance was a bright spot, Rosner will need his full roster—particularly Saquon Barkley—to bounce back if he wants to stay competitive in the playoff race.
“This one hurt, but we’ll regroup,” Rosner said. “I have faith in this team. We’ve got all the pieces, and I know we’ll get back on track.”
As Rosner prepares for next week, fans will be watching closely to see if his team can shake off this loss and return to form. With strong performances from Otton and his wide receivers, he’s got plenty of reason to hope for a bounce-back in the weeks to come.
Rosner now stands at a record of 5-3, good for 4th in the league.
